Cancer is REALLY scary. Most of us know someone who’s either had it, is in treatment, recovering or didn’t make it through. It’s a beast of a diagnosis, and now a fab funny author friend of mine, Tommy Donbavand, is facing a terrifying battle against throat cancer. He’s started radiotherapy and chemotherapy this last week, and the author community is rallying behind him to raise awareness and to help support Tommy and his lovely family at this difficult time.

We’re going to run a Tommy Vs Cancer blog tour throughout the month of July, so if you have a blog of your own and would like to take part, please leave a comment under this post and the organisers will get back to you. You’ll need to read and review one of Tommy’s books (many of them are pretty short, so don’t be daunted!) and include a link to Tommy’s wonderful (but frank and uncensored) blog Tommy Vs Cancer.
In the meantime, if you feel moved to help Tommy through this ordeal, you can sign up to become a Patreon, which means that for a tiny donation per month, you’ll get all kinds of brilliant things from Tommy including lesson plans, short stories, jokes, articles and all sorts. Tommy has been visiting schools as an author for YEARS and has notched up more school dinners than most of the rest of us put together, so his resources are WORTH IT, let me tell you!
I’m with you Jo!
