I’m really excited this year to be doing several literary festivals, talking about Electrigirl, and also performing with my musical author pals in our band First Draft (which was formed last year for the Wychwood Festival, thanks to organiser Barbara Pendrigh, who badgered us into it!) I’m planning my events and desperately trying to memorise piano chords today!
This Sunday 3rd April you can catch me and my illustrator colleague Cathy Brett at the Oxford Literary Festival as we talk All Things Electrigirl!
On Saturday 23rd April you can see the two of us at Chiplitfest, again talking about Electrigirl – and that evening will see a First Draft gig too!
At the Wychwood Festival, on the weekend of 3rd-5th June, you can see my solo Electrigirl event and another First Draft gig too (well, how could we say no to Barbara?!)
And at the Just So Festival, which runs 19th-21st August, I shall again be solo-ing Electrigirl – and enjoying our third First Draft performance too! The line-up was revealed today by the splendid Guardian Children’s Books, who are sponsoring the event, and I’m already excited about Just So because I’ve heard amazing things about it.
There are a couple of other festivals in the pipeline too – more details in due course! What a fun year to look forward to!
