I had a lovely surprise the other day – a parcel arrived containing copies of two of my Sweet Hearts books in Vietnamese!

Aren’t they gorgeous? I had no idea they were coming! You see, when you sell ‘world rights’ for a book to a publisher, that means they can sell your books overseas without asking you (I would have said YES obviously!) – and often the author doesn’t even know until a copy plops onto our doormat! I am SO thrilled with these versions; they’re illustrated inside too!

I was also fascinated to see that some pages have footnotes – obviously in Vietnam they’re not so familiar with skateboarding jargon like ‘nollie’ and ‘kickflip’ and there’s an explanation of ‘BMX’ too!
I love seeing my books translated into other languages – and now I have a sudden urge to visit Vietnam 🙂
Hi Jo Cotterill! This is Samantha and Zoey and we are dying of curiosity to know whether you are going to make any more books for the Sweethearts series. We love it and we have read all of them!
Hi Zoey and Samantha! *waves madly* I’m so sorry, there are no plans for further Sweet Hearts books at the moment…sob! But maybe one day in the future…!
I hope you’ll keep an eye out for my brand new novel LOOKING AT THE STARS though – it’s out at the end of January! (and if you’re anywhere near Oxford, you’re welcome to come to my launch party 😉 ) Jo x
