The half term break is always welcome in the autumn because the term is just too damn long, isn’t it? My family and I went away this time; to a holiday park called Mill Rythe, on Hayling Island. A perfect 2 hours away – just far enough to feel you’re on holiday but not so far that the journey is a military operation of snacks, in-car entertainment options and endless toilet stops.
There were loads of activities for the kids, and a swimming pool and soft play on site, and an added bonus was the glorious weather. It was actually sunny and warm! At the end of October! And as the park is on the coast, you only have to walk a few hundred yards to see the glorious sea…

Even the girls were entranced…

…for about ten minutes, that is. And then they wanted to go back into the park and play. My husband and I could have happily stood and breathed in the view for a lot longer.
And now I’m back to work, and there’s lots going on AND I CAN’T TELL YOU ANY OF IT! So frustrating! But there has been ANOTHER wonderful wonderful piece of news, and so that makes TWO still to be revealed – and I promise I will as soon as I can! But suffice it to say, the news is all book-related and brings to an end my rather arid, depressing period of Not Getting Anything Published…;-)
No! My lips are sealed! For now…:-)
